Bettie Lane Dunn Simpson went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 15, 2011.
Mrs. Simpson was the daughter of Stanley Thompson Dunn and Marietta Crain Dunn. She grew up in Southern Pines. Her husband, William J. (Buddy) Simpson preceded her in death.
She worked for Carolina Telephone for 18 years, she and her husband owned and operated Midway Nursery in Southern Pines for 29 years, during which time she made Christmas Wreaths for the nursery and was well known for the hundreds of wreaths she made for people and churches.
Mrs. Simpson is survived by her daughter, Georgia Michael & husband, Terry of Eastwood; her son, William (Jerry) Simpson & wife, Sharon of Cameron; one sister, Fannie Mae Solomon of Southern Pines; five grandchildren, Amber Michael, Charles (C. W.) Michael, Chris Simpson, Holly Cirillo & husband, Steve; and Scott Simpson; great-grandchildren, Noah, Ayden, Hannah, Lily and Zoe. Several nieces & nephews that were all very special to her.
Her services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 19th, 2011 at Trinity Bible Church in Carthage with the Rev. Dr. William J Maness officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Bible Church, PO Box 1116, Carthage, NC 28327.
