Betty Britt Morphis
April 27, 1930 ~ November 7, 2023
Betty Morphis, 93, of Robbins, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on November 7, 2023.
A lifelong member of the community, she graduated from Westmoore High School. She made her way to work at the Milliken Mill with her husband, eventually raising four loving children. After losing her husband, she reinvented herself at Montgomery Technical College receiving an Associates degree in Pottery and Business. Many of her clay creations are proudly displayed throughout her home.
Her faith led her through good times and times less fortunate. She was an active member at Elise Presbyterian, serving in numerous leadership roles while always proudly singing in the choir. Her beautiful solo voice was often requested for weddings, funerals, and birthdays, which she loved to do.
Fellowship was a focal point in her social life. She loved her bridge club and entertaining her friends, which was always an opportunity to show off her incredible sense of style. She also enjoyed her ladies golf team, though more for the company she kept than the skills she showcased.
Although she wore many hats as part of her many talents, family always came first. She cherished being a mother and effortlessly served as the matriarch to her growing family. There was no greater love in her life than spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest right to the end. She is now enjoying her heavenly reward.
She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Morphis, sister Artanse Hussey (Cranford), and son Robert Morphis. She is survived by her brother Bobby Britt (Edwina), and her children Barry Morphis (Barbara), Eddie Morphis (Peggy), Donna Johnson (Glenn), six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 PM, Friday, November 10, 2023 at Elise Presbyterian Church, With Reverend Jon Neuhs and Reverend Edwin Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Rest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 PM , in the Fellowship Hall of the church.

Sorry for your loss.
Heaven has gained a special angel. Our precious, sweet Betty. I love this lady and her family with all my heart ❤️. She is now singing with the angels with her beautiful voice. Countless funerals this woman sang for including my Father’s. Words cannot express my gratitude for all this lady has done for our church. Donald and Betty Morphis helped “raise me” in our church. What a legacy they built together; wonderful family. With Heart-Felt Sympathy, Love and Prayers 🙏.
Prayers for her family. She will certainly be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Betty’s passing. Being so far away it is difficult to keep up with family. Sorry I had to find out on FB.
Barry, Eddie, Donna and family,
Kim and I are grieved for you all in your loss of Ms. Betty. Such a sweet, caring , loving and concerned lady with a love for all she met. Always encouraging and totally devoted to her family. I will always cherish her encouragement of me and Westmoore School. Truly a special lady. She will be greatly missed. May God cradle you all in His loving arms in your grief and in the days to come. We love you. Kim and Bruce Williams
Prayers for all the family. We loved Betty, she was such a wonderful person!
My sympathy to the Morphis family and all who love her. She was a true Southern lady with the strength of any man. I always remember Betty with fondness.
Donna and all your family, I am so blessed to have known “Mama Morphis” as we called her. She was a fabulous host to us as we searched Seagrove for pottery, she always asked about my family when she saw me, she had so much positive energy and loved her family endlessly. She will be greatly missed by all but heaven has another amazing angel now. We love you all.
Dawn, Mike and Cayce Martin
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Betty. She was one of the sweetest ladies we were blessed to know. From the day our family moved to Robbins in the sixties, we counted Don and Betty as one of our closest friends.
