Betty F. Williams Shamberger was born on April 24, 1924 to Mattie and Russell Williams in Glendon, NC. She departed this life on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Manor Care.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Barrett and Rev. Ann McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Betty joined Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful member until she moved to Washington, DC. She worked for Washington, DC School System until her retirement. She was a provider for her family and especially to her nieces and nephews. Her nephew, Raymond, was very devoted to her and dedicated to making sure she was well taken care of.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Shamberger, sisters, Alice Black, Annie Taylor, Esther LeGrand, Eva Brower, Belle Person and one brother, Leonard Williams.
She leaves to honor her memory Elder Billy Williams & wife, Viola of Columbus, OH, Willie Williams & wife, Laverne of Robbins, Bessie Taylor of Pittsburgh, PA, Mattie Williams of Carthage and Jessie Barrett & husband, Robert of Pinehurst.
