Betty Hussey Key, 87, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at FirstHealth Hospice House, Pinehurst, NC, surrounded by her family. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Smyrna Church, Robbins, NC, with the Reverend Farrell Hussey and Reverend Wilson Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Rest Cemetery. 

Betty grew up in Northern Moore County,  a member of a large family.  She attended Westmoore School and worked in the manufacturing and  textile industry for many years.  Betty was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother.  Betty loved the Lord, attending Acorn Ridge Baptist Church, Robbins First Wesleyan Church and Smyrna Church, where many of her ancestors attended and are buried.  Time spent with her family was very important and she cherished the opportunities to visit with all her family. She was a daughter of the late George Oscar Hussey and Glenna Williams Hussey and was preceded in death by husband: Bill, son: David Key; daughter: Patricia Key  Medlin; sisters: Mazie H. White, Kathleen H. Marley, Etheleen H. Luck, Joyce Ann Hussey, Helen H. Williams; brothers: Colon (Tim) Hussey, Bud Garner and Sonny Hussey, Tommy Hussey.

Betty is survived by her daughter: Pam Allen (Ron), of Toccoa, Ga.;  grandchildren: Kevin Allen (Leslie), Jeremy Allen (Laurie), Brandon Key (Jenny), Hillary Parnell (Robbie), Josh Key and 10 great-grandchildren and twins due in September; 1 great great grandson; son in law: Sam Medlin; many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Friday, June 23, 2023 at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, NC. 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pinehurst, NC.
