Billy J. Martindale, age 82, of Putnam, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

 

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 19, 2016 at the High Falls Wesleyan Church in High Falls, with the Reverend Roger Riffe and Reverend Billy Joe Brady officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held in the church, prior to the funeral service, beginning at 1:00 PM.

 

A native of Moore County, he was one of eight children born to the late Marvin Martindale and Mary Phillips Burrow. He was employed by Collins and Aikman in Siler City, NC, for 44 years. He was preceded in death by his children, Nathan, David, and Anna Dare; his brother, Harold; and his sisters, Myrtle, Edith, Judy, Carol, and Linda.

 

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette H. Martindale; daughter, Melissa M. Butler; grandson, William Layne Martindale, of Carthage; brother, Bobby Martindale of Robbins and numerous nieces and nephews.
