Billy Lester Cheek,79 , passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Lester was a graduate of Elise High School. He worked in textiles and as a tractor mechanic, but his love was farming, which he did all his life. Lester believed in and enjoyed working; caring for livestock and the land. Lester was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and soon to be great grandfather. He liked to spend time with all his family. Lester was a son of the late William Eli and Emma Garner Cheek and was preceded in death by granddaughter Kylie Cheek..
Lester is survived by his wife, of 54 years, Clariece; son: Kevin Cheek and wife Kristy; granddaughter: Kaci Jones and husband Avery; sisters: Janice Dowdy, Barbara Diane Needham; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Neal Jackson officiating. The body will lie in state at Kennedy Funeral Home from 8:00 AM until noon, Saturday, January 16, 2021.
