Bobby Lynn Ritter

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”

Bobby Lynn Ritter began his journey on November 5, 1957 when he was born to Levi Williard and Flora Stutts Ritter in Pinehurst, N.C. His journey ended September 1, 2023 at his residence near Lake Tillery in Troy, N.C.

Bobby’s young years were spent sharing adventures with his sister, Jean Ritter of Robbins, Danny Lee Ritter (JoAnn) of Lewisville and Roger Dale Ritter (Janet) of Whispering Pines. In those days, long before cell phones and computers; our days were spent playing on the wagon hill, where we rode “wagonscrafted from wood, lawn mower tires and rope, building in the sand pile, riding bicycles and staying outside until dark. We grew up in the best of times, when creativity directed our activities.

Bobby attended North Moore High School and proudly served his country in the US Army. He was blessed with two children, Angie Lynn Ritter of Biscoe, N.C. who survives and is the mother of Izabella (Bella) and William (Will) his precious grandchildren. Jacob Levi Ritter, who preceded him in death, leaving our family much too soon. Bobby is also preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Flora Ritter. Paternal grandparents, Parker and Angie Maness Ritter and Maternal grandparents, Millard Ellis Stutts and Fannie Belle Davis Stutts. Bobby is also survived by our Uncle Bill Ritter and Aunt Helen Garner Ritter, several cousins, niece, nephews and friends that make us family.

Bobby enjoyed being at Lake Tillery, where many fish stories, both real and imagined were told. He was often posting pictures of a sunrise or sunset that were special to him.

Bobby’s family will honor his request to be cremated and at a future time, meet to spread his ashes over the lake. Although his journey is complete here, his memory will live on.

Kennedy Funeral Home is serving the Ritter family.
