Boyd D. Dean, CW2, US Army retired, age 69 of 207 D. Carlton Road died Thursday (July 27, 2006) at his residence.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake with full military honors.
A native of McDowell, WV he was son of the late Sam and Sadie Lambert Dean and was preceded in death by sisters Kathleen Collins and Ilene Caudill and a brother Harold Dean. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the US Air Force of 16 years and then the US Army for four years before retiring.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Petitt Dean; daughters Leslie Mays and husband Ken of Oak Ridge, NC, Catherine Bowling and husband John of Abington, VA, Lorna Thomas and husband Kevin of San Antonio, TX; sons Brett Hearl and wife Paula of Boise, ID, Douglas Dean of San Antonio, TX, Jeff Dean of Wyoming, Craig Dean and wife Michelle of New Zealand; sister Joyce Ross of Hoschton, GA; brother Loyd Dean and wife Frances of Florien, LA; grandchildren Benjamin, Kaleb and Seth; great grand-daughter Gracie Lynn.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home Friday from 6:00 â
