Brenda Puckett Frye, 75, of Carthage, NC went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at First Health Hospice House in Pinehurst.
Brenda was born in Moore County, September 23, 1948. She was one of five children born to the late Otis and Leatrice Puckett. She was known for her beautiful voice and enjoyed shopping sprees. She owned and operated Hillcrest Beauty Shop for 39 years and was always welcoming to those who came in.
She was a loved sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and wife. Brenda was a faithful church member of Harmony Baptist Church where over the years she held the roles of treasurer, and choir leader. She loved singing in church and loved her hymns.
Brenda is survived by her faithful husband of 50 years Richard M Frye, grandsons Colton (Lindsey) Talbert of Liberty, Corbin Talbert of Climax; great-granddaughter Vivian James Talbert; sister Debbie (Ronnie) Bowman of Ararat, VA; sisters-in-law Edna (Harold) Douglas and Gwynn (Leon) Phillips; brother-in-law David Frye; nephew/brother; Wayne (Wanda) Kennedy; nephews Scott & Todd Phillips, Jason & Jeremy Bowman, Frankie Puckett, David Kennedy; nieces Ashley (Matt) Davis, Hazel Blake: great-nephews & nieces Noah & Addie Davis, Ethan Bowman, Jasmine & Brianna Bowman, and Tim Blake; Wayne Kennedy, Jr.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by son Keith Talbert; stepmother Mozelle Puckett; sister Louise Leonard; brothers Dwight Puckett and Danny Puckett; sister-in-law Darlene Dowd; niece Lynne Johnson.
A visitation will be held at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and other times at the home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Harmony Baptist Church conducted by Pastors Dana Brewer and Tony Hancock. Burial will follow at West End Cemetery.
