Calvin Harrrison Cockman

Calvin Harrison Cockman, 80, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023 at his home.
Graveside service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Pastor James Brewer officiating.
A native of Moore County, he served his country in the United States Army. In addition to being a veteran he was also a well known photographer and a graduate of Asheboro cosmetology and beautician school. He was proud to have once fixed Elizabeth Taylor’s hair.
He opened the first US cellular store in Carthage and also DISH network sales and installation. He enjoyed people and liked good conversation. He was the son of the late Calvin Hardin and Edith Pope Cockman and was preceded in death by sister: Joyce Ann Russell.
Calvin is survived by son: Christopher Connie and wife Patti; grandchildren: Taylor, Zachary, Mack; brother: Dean Cockman, sister: Ruth Cockman Russell and husband Harry; many friends:

Such a nice man. He was always so helpful to us at Calvary Baptist Church. Any time we were there working, he would stop and offer his help. The last time he was at Midway, he was giving the Great’s money just for smiling at him! Loved listening to his stories and memories of yesteryears. I will miss him.

So sorry for our loss. I say “our”, because Calvin was a good and special friend. He had his ways, as we all do, and those of us who loved him knew how special he was. I will miss him, and I send my Sincere Condolences to the family and friends.
