Carl Eugene Lee, Jr

Carl Eugene (Gene) Lee, Jr., 79, died Monday, February 13, 2012 at St. Joseph of the Pines Health Center.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21st at the VFW at 615 South Page Street.
Born September 9, 1932 in Moore County, he was a son of the late Carl (Pat) and Katie McDonald Lee.
Mr. Lee was a U S Army Veteran, the owner of Southern Air and Equipment Company, was a master woodworker, a member of the VFW Post 7318, and worked at Burney Hardware.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Caples Lee of Southern Pines, one son, Gerald Patrick Lee of Foxfire Village, one daughter, Cheri Lee Creed of Ashley Heights, four grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

I was saddened to hear of Carl’s passing. I always looked forward to seeing and speaking with him at the SPHS reunions. I grew up next door to his family so saw him a lot as a kid. He was a real nice person and he will be missed by family and friends.
