Carl H. Davis, age 92 of Whispering Pines died Friday (December 29, 2006) at Belaire Retirement Center in Gastonia.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M. Monday (January 1, 2007) at the Carthage United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Chuck Plowman. Burial will follow in Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage, NC.
A native of Memphis, MO, he was a son of the late Frank and Irma Biggs Davis. When he graduated from college he became a Certified Public Accountant. He retired after thirty-one years with Walker Manufacturing Company in Racine Wisc. He and his wife of fifty years, Hilda, moved to Whispering Pines in 1982 where he enjoyed golf, swimming, baking in his kitchen and reading. He was one of the original volunteers with the Senior Citizen Tax Filing Program in Moore County. He was preceded in death by his wife Hilda, his parents, a daughter Laura Doperalski, three sisters Helen Meuller, Anne Davis and Ina Diebel, and a brother Vance Davis.
He is survived by a son Tom Davis of Belmont, NC; five grandchildren Katie and Andrew Davis, Holly, Joe and Hailley Doperalski.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P. M. Monday in the Shaw Room at Carthage United Methodist Church
