Carolyn Bill Gahagan from Pinehurst, NC died Monday July 1, 2019 at Duke Hospital due to complications with her heart.

Born in New York City Caroline grew up at Raymond Farms in Lyme, CT where she learned to love the land and run wild and free in bare feet. She graduated from Briarcliff College and then moved on to Darien, where she worked as a legal Secretary for Cummings & Lockwood and then onto a Patent attorneys office of St. Onge Steward Johnston & Reens LLC. and then on to Pinehurst, NC.

Predeceased by Her mother Sally James Bill and Father Frederick Gerli Gahagan. She is survived by her nieces and nephews from her late sister Sally B. (Lolly) Gahagan; Jessica A. Brown (Thomas Pastuszak), Katie M. Brown, James R. Brown (Erin Blanchard), and Randolph F. Brown IV (Carrie Mae Brown), Jackson Blanchard Brown, Emma James Brown and Walter Gibson Pastuszak. She is also survived by her brother, Frederick B. Gahagan (Fritz), (Mary Lou Gahagan); her nephews, Benjamin I. Gahagan (Trish Gahagan) and William G. Gahagan (Lizzie Gahagan) and her niece, Gwyn Gahagan and her children Roland Gahagan and Rosie Gahagan.

Her life epitomized doing good, being Kind and doing it well. She lived to give love to all those who shared her life. Her Love for her Dog’s Sadie, Emma and Keisha made her the happiest…..

Carolyn will be missed. She gave us the precious gift of hope, strength and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter, and better place. RIP
