Carolyn Powell, age 71, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 12, 2024, amongst family and friends.
Born, July 30, 1952 in Robeson County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Lewis Herbert Powell and Ruth Edwards Fields. She worked as an educator for Moore County Schools for 30 years.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her brothers: Billy Powell and Walter Spaeth, and sister, Cathryn Anne Owens.
She is survived by her two daughters: Amy and Vince Denny and Andrea and Michael Matchlat; her brother, Tommy Powell; and five grandchildren: Allen Denny, Michael Matchlat, Victoria Denny, Jessica Matchlat, and Addison Denny.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
