Carstella Brower

Ms. Carstella Brower, funeral will be held Sunday, June 14, 2009 at 2:00 PM. at New Zion AME Zion church with the Rev. Jerry Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow at the New Zion church cemetery.
Ms. Carstella Brower daughter of the late Wyatt Brower and Sally Alston Brower was born in Hemp on January 15, 1919. Her fruitful life on this earth ended Monday, June 8, 2009 at Manorcare Health Services in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
She was a devoted member of New Zion AME Zion church. She served as a deaconess in her church, president of the stewardess board for many years and worked tirelessness on the kitchen committee, Ms. Brower was known for her good cooking, especially her cakes. Ms. Brower was a member of Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star # 636.
She was a devoted mother who enjoyed being with others, sharing joy, laughter and happiness with family and friends. She loved giving and did so generously, she loved caring and did so openly and unselfishly.
She was the mother of three children: Mrs. Rhoda J. Ingram her husband Carl Ingram, Jr. of Greensboro, NC. Mrs. Ruby Brower Johnson her husband Joseph Johnson of Philadelphia, Pa. proceeding her in death was her son Mr. Cecil Howard Brower. Also surviving is two sisters: Mrs. Ocia Smith of Philadelphia, Pa. and Mrs. Betty Ingram of Raleigh, NC.
Mama Stella as she was loving called had over Twenty Grandchildren, even more Great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren. A host of Nieces and Nephews and friends.
The family hour is from 1:00 " 2:00 PM. Sunday, June 14, 2009 at New Zion Church.
