Catherine Briggs Hearne, age 81 of Carthage died Thursday (April 5, 2012) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Bebe Briggs.
A native of Moore County she was the last living of 13 children born to William F. and Mary Catherine Bowling Briggs. She worked in food service for many years with Moore County Schools and retired in 1993. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Lee Hearne.
She is survived by: daughter Edna White of Carthage; sons Robert 'Butch' Hearne of Candor, Duke Hearne of Vass, Reece 'Dick' Hearne and Herbert Hearne both of Aberdeen; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home on Saturday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

Eddie, Butch, Duke, Duster, Dick and family, my heart aches with all of you for one we all loved so very much! She will be missed by all who knew her, but will be at peace and free of pain forever more. We can rejoice knowing she is reunited with loved on
God bless your family during this time. Mrs. Hearne drove my school bus as a child. She was always very nice. Although I hadn’t seen her in many years, I will always remember her.
