Charles E. Graves, US Army Ret. age 64 died Monday at his residence.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Union Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. William A. Stewart, Jr. Burial will follow with full military rite in the church cemetery.
A native of Granite Falls, NC he was a son of the late Robert P. and Bessie E. Graves. He retired from the US Army as a 1st Sergeant where he served for almost 22 years including several tours in Vietnam. He later worked as a Superintendent with St. Charles Manufacturing in Sanford.
He is survived by: his wife of nearly 40 years Nancy Deese Graves; daughters Tisha Miller and husband Kevin of Carthage, Jonna Graves of the home; brothers R.P. Graves, Jr. of Anderson, IN, Samuel Graves of Celina, TN, Dale Graves of Hickory; sisters Pauline Meeks of Melbourne, FL, Elizabeth Crawford of Wallins Creek, KY; grandchildren Ashley, Alexis and Grayson.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Tisha and Kevin Miller, 2389 Putnam-Glendon Road, Carthage and following the service in the church fellowship hall.
