Charles “Sonny” Thomas Maness, 77 of Robbins passed away Monday September 1, 2014  at his home surrounded by his family.

 

Funeral service will be  2:00 PM Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Smyrna United Methodist Church with the Reverend Adam Beddingfield officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

A native of Moore County, Sonny was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He was a son of the late Theodore and Flossie Maness. Sonny was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Rouse Maness, brother, Ed Maness and sister, Annie Maness.

 

Surviving are his sons: Mickey Flinchum and wife Janet of Seagrove, Brian Maness and wife Laura; Marty Maness and wife Jeanne both of Robbins, grandchildren: Bradley Maness, Jake Flinchum, Stephanie Maness, Brooke Maness, Nick Tucker, Ashley Tucker Goins sisters: Lucy Matthews, of Whispering Pines, Helen Hussey and husband Charles, of Robbins and many nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends at Kennedy Funeral Home from 6:00--8:00 PM Wednesday, September 3, 2014 and other times at the home.

 

Kennedy Funeral Home is assisting the Maness family.

  1. Sonny was a great man and we loved him very much. He will be greatly missed, however, I wouldn’t want to take him from that awesome place in which he is in now. He’s probably seen Jesus by now, and he’s probably walking along the streets of gold and talki
