Charles W. Presley, Jr., age 66 of Carthage died Tuesday (October 18, 2011).
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Thursday at Believers Christian Fellowship Church in Carthage conducted by Pastors Brent and Phillip Smith. Burial will follow with military honors in Cross Hill Cemetery.
A native of Moore County he was a son of the late Charles Wade and Beulah Mae Scott Presley. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam war and formerly worked in the heating and air conditioning business. He was preceded in death by a brother Harold Wayne Presley and a sister Beverly Presley.
He is survived by: his wife Marcia Smith Presley; daughter Lisa P. Gwynn of Aberdeen; son Darrin Presley of Wilmington; step children Rebecca S. Brown of Carthage, Rodney Smith of Cameron, Brent Smith and Phillip Smith both of Carthage; sisters Brenda McGlennen of Carthage, Debbie Taylor of Carthage; brother Larry Presley of Robbins; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM and other times at the residence of Phillip Smith.
