Charlie B. Freeman, age 85 of 149 Freeman Road died Monday (February 25, 2008) at Pinelake Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Crossroads Community Church conducted by Evangelist David Bibey. Burial will follow at Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage.
A native of Moore County he was a son of the late Charlie Merrill and Ruby Yow Freeman. He was a retired painter and was preceded in death by: his wife Mable Rouse Freeman and eight brothers Paul, Dewey, James Rowland, John, Jessie, Albert "Pammy", Nathan and Daniel.
He is survived by: step-daughter Eloise Ward of Ellerbe; step-son Ernest Greene of Carthage; sisters Lettie Pearl McNeill of Carthage, Bertha Burgess of Robbins; brother Vernon "Jim" Freeman of Carthage; grandchildren Terria Brewer, Shelton Brewer, James Brewer, Vincent Brewer and Dennis Greene all of Carthage, Regina Ward of Ellerbe, Lee Greene of Pinehurst; 14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home Tuesday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times at the residence.
