Charlotte Marie McGahey, 87, of Southern Pines died Saturday, May 24 th , 2014 at Fox Hollow.
A private burial mass for her will be held at a later date at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Born June 30, 1926 in Buffalo, NY she was a daughter of the late John and Amelia Testa Burns and wife of the late Roger G. McGahey. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Mrs. McGahey was a retired public school teacher, a member of the Sandhills Women's Exchange, and a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela A. Van Doren and husband James of Tipton, MI, and Barbara Hayes and husband Mark of Orchard Park, NY, two sons, Gary McGahey and wife Debbie of Southern Pines, and Brian McGahey and wife Dawn of Hamburg, NY, one sister, Joan Evans and husband David of Getzville, NY, ten grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in her name to the following organizations of The Foundation of FirstHealth: Clara McLean House, Cancer CARE Fund or Hospice at 150 Applescross Road, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
