Clara Jean Brown Saunders, 87 of Robbins passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at FirstHealth Hospice House. 

Clara was the daughter of the late James “Jim” and Blanche Brown born on April 16, 1937, at the Old Davis Homeplace in Robbins, NC. She was married to Clyde Thomas Saunders in August 1955. This union was blessed with 7 beautiful children. Clyde preceded her in death on January 12, 2019. Mrs. Saunders retired from Ithaca Hosiery and Quick Check’s Famous Biscuit Lady. Clara enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She loved spending time with ALL her family. 

Clara was preceded in death by sons: James “Tommy” Saunders, Timothy “Bruce” Saunders, and Randy Wayne Saunders; daughter-in-law: Debbie B. Saunders;  grandson: Marshall E. Northcutt.

Clara is survived by sons: Clyde Steven Saunders of Highfalls and Billy Joe Saunders, Sr. of Robbins; daughters: Sandra Jean Hall of Highfalls and Becky Lynn Medlin (Monty) of Robbins; daughter-in-laws: Jill Saunders of Highfalls and Joan Saunders of Highfalls; brother: Winfred Brown of Robbins; sisters: Kay Elliott of Robbins, Elizabeth Poole of Sparta, NC, Rose Cassady of Brown Summit, Virginia McIntyre of Troy; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will have visitation at Kennedy Funeral Home on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 5 pm-7 pm. 

Funeral Service will be Friday, November 22, 2024 at 1 pm at Unity Grove Baptist Church 849 Mt. Carmel Church Rd: Carthage, NC with Pastor Jason Cheek officiating. The burial will follow at Saunders Family Cemetery 233 Milestone Ln. Robbins NC.
