Darlene Moore Maness Cockman, age 70 of Carthage died Thursday (February 7, 2013) at Peak Resource - Pinelake in Carthage.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Calvary Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Bill Cooper, Rev. Roger Rife and Phil Enlow. Burial will follow in Highfalls Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
A native of Moore County she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A.V. Moore. She worked at Ithaca Industries in Robbins and later in life received her GED and C.N.A. at Sandhills Community College then went to work at Autumn Care in Biscoe.
She was preceded in death by: husbands Ernest Maness, Jr who died in 1987; and Warren Cockman who she married later; sons Ernest Maness, III and Rev. Andy Maness; brother Gilbert Moore.
She is survived by: Son Jerry Maness and wife Melissa of Carthage; daughter in law Susan Maness of Lancaster, SC; brothers A.V. Moore and wife Lillian of Bonlee, Wayne Moore of Cameron, Leonard 'Ross' Moore and wife Judy of Robbins, Roger Moore and wife Velma of Robbins; sisters Mildred Tonkins of Asheboro, Betty Greene of Eagle Springs; sister in law Sandra Moore of Aberdeen; several half brothers and sisters; grandchildren Justin, Joshua and Hannah Maness.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home Sunday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times at the residence of Jerry and Melissa Maness.

  6. Darlene was a nurse at Autumn care when my parents were there. She was a very caring lady and a good nurse. She will really be missed.
