Darrell Lee Shue, of Robbins, 58, born in Anson County on July 7, 1955, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at The Laurels of Chatham, Pittsboro, NC.

 

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Laurel Hill Baptist Church, Candor, NC, with the Reverend Robert Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Darrell retired after serving as a police officer for Aberdeen Police Department and the Moore County Sheriff’s Department. He loved hot rods, being a police officer and making everyone laugh with the many jokes he told.  All of the kids called him the “Candyman”, as he always had candy in his pocket that he gave out every time he saw them.

 

Darrell was a son of the late Dewey Lee and Macie Luther Shue.  He was preceded in death by brothers: Dewey “Tadpole” Shue and Milton Rodney Luther.

 

Darrell is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Donna Eaton Shue, sisters: Edna Freeman, Sylvia James, Tennie Shue; brother: Roger Shue, step children: Daffney Stutts Rowell and Christie Sanders Scott. He will also be missed by his step grandchildren: Tabitha Rowell, Tyler Rowell and Dakota Rowell.

 

The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2014 prior to the funeral service at Laurel Hill Baptist Church.

 

Memorial may be made to American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA. 23060.
