David Clarage Blasingame, age 77, passed away on Thursday, July 13th, 2023 after his battle with cancer at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.
Born on October 20, 1945 in Pryor, OK, he was a son of the late David Frank Blasingame Jr. and Bonnie Anderson Blasingame. He served in the United States Army. David retired from the Parkersburg Fire Department after 27 years of service. He also retired after 15 years with Erie Insurance as a Fire/Fraud Investigator. Afterwards, he worked at Ace Hardware and then 10 years with Pinehurst Resorts in golf course maintenance at course #9.
In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his brother; James Dale Blasingame.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years: Donna Cowan Blasingame of Whispering Pines, NC; sons: David Blasingame of Parkersburg, WV, Rod (Kendra) Harouff of Flowery Branch, GA; daughters: Becky Blasingame of PA, Kelli (John) Azinger of Vienna, WV, Staci (Sean) Hagarty of San Clemente, CA; brothers: Donald (Frances) Blasingame of Midwest City, OK, Arthur Lee Blasingame of Whispering Pines, NC; 9 grandchildren: Kyle, Wesley, Abbey, Aidan, Kayla, Rylie, Collin, Logan, Kassidy, and Sloane.
As per Dave’s wishes, there will be no services. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff on floor 10B.
