David “Hoobie” Kidd 57, passed away peacefully, October 1, 2016 at FirstHealth Hospice House, Pinehurst, NC, surrounded by his family.

 

Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at High Falls United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Reverend Phillip Martin and Reverend John Williamson officiating.

 

David never met a stranger, he greeted everyone with a smile.  He enjoyed making people laugh and always was ready to give a helping hand.  David was an avid Duke fan; loved to fish, hunt and play golf.  He was an artist; painting gourd birdhouses and making sand sculptures. His biggest love was his family, especially the 5 grandchildren and the one on the way. He was preceded in death by his father: Linton Kidd; brothers: Gary and Jerry Kidd.

 

David is survived by daughter: Kristi Medlin and husband Matthew, of Richfield; son: Nick and wife Sydnie, of Albemarle and their mother, Susie; grandchildren: Hunter, Lilly, Jack, Cheyanne, Hank; fiance: Evon Caviness; mother: Delores Garner and husband Bud; sisters: Karen Watson, Sharon Hill; brothers: Terry and Tommy Kidd.

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Kennedy Funeral Home..
