David Whitney Leiss, 86 years old, died Monday, August 29, 2011 at Kingswood Nursing Center in Aberdeen.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Kingswood Nursing Center.

A native of Glen Ridge, NJ he was a son of the late Frederic Jacob Leiss and Mildred Graham Whitney Leiss.

He was a WWII veteran and retired from Ever Ready Label company where he worked as a purchasing agent. After retiring in 1982 he and his wife moved to Southern Pines.
The only immediate survivor is a step-son Keith Nelson of Berkley, CA.

Mr. Leiss was my father’s roommate at Kingswood Nursing Center in Aberdeen. I always enjoyed seeing David when I would visit my father. David always had a sweet smile on his face!! He will be missed!
