Delilah Baber Brooks, age 69 of Pinebluff passed away  Friday  (August 19,2016) in Pigeon Forge, TN.

 

Funeral services will be  11:00 AM   Saturday  at Deep Creek Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Jerry Wilson. Burial will follow in Pinebluff Cemetery.

 

Born in Lee County on June 19, 1947 she was a daughter of the late Lester and Alice Mae Purvis Baber. She was a graduate of Sandhills Community College and worked for Kolcraft for over 18 years.

 

Delilah was known by many for her musical talent. She was an accomplished piano player and also enjoyed singing. She belonged to a group who visited area nursing homes and shared her music with the local residents.

 

She is survived by: her husband Paul Brooks; daughter Tammy Bryant and husband Samuel of Red Springs; son Chris Brooks and wife Donna of Pinebluff; sister Debra Ritter of Biscoe; brother Danny Baber of Robbins; grandchildren Jonathan, Ryan, Amanda and Jacob; great grandchildren Talon, Riley and Bentley.

 

The family will receive friends from  6:00 – 8:00 PM   Friday  at Powell Funeral Home in Southern Pines and other times at the home of Chris and Donna Brooks 345 N. Cherry Street, Pinebluff .

 

The Brooks family request that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Paul or Chris  to help with needed expenses.
