Dennis Frank Carr, Jr., 52, of Carthage, died Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill.

 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home, 402 Saunders Street, Carthage, NC.

 

A native of Bridgeport, CT, Dennis loved to ride motorcycles with his friends, and was a member of a prominent motorcycle club for more than 8 years.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the 1980s.  When he was younger, living in Connecticut, he loved boating on the Long Island Sound.  He also enjoyed his pet cats. He worked as a Heating and Air Technician for many years. He was a loving husband and will be missed by his many friends.

 

Dennis is survived by his wife Doreen, of Carthage; his father Dennis Carr, Sr. and his wife, Linda, of South Carolina; his mother and step-father, Annie and Ron Breen of Florida; and his sister Deanna Hill, of Whispering Pines; a grandmother, Rita Fontaine of Rhode Island, and also numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to ASPCA, 424 E. 92nd Street, New York, NY 10128.
