Doris Camellia Bowman, 82 yrs from Carthage NC, passed away on October 7, 2023. Camellia was born at Fort Liberty (Fort Bragg), Cumberland County NC in 1941, to John R. Bowman and Elizabeth Muse-Bowman.
Camellia had an artistic talent: was a professional window dresser, skilled in interior decorating, painting, drawing, sewing, needlepoint, crochet, knitting, and decorating furniture. She was employed with Guilford County Security until her retirement. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands: Leonard Tracey,: Donald Greek; brothers: John R. Bowman, Jr., (William) Bill Bowman, sister: Anne Bowman Ivey.
Camellia is survived by son: Shannon L. Greek, his wife Martine Tremblay, of Montreal Canada: sister: Debra Bowman Davis, of Alabama; nephews: Brian, David, Jay, and John Bowman, Eddy and Jason Ivey, Scott Cyr; nieces: Linda Ivey, Cathy Carpenter: cousin: Martha McNeill and her daughters Carrla Hussey and Tara Perkins.
Funeral service at 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 29 2023 at Fair Promise United Methodist Church, Glendon NC., with Reverend Brian Perry presiding. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 3:00 PM. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
