Dorothy “Dot” Kiser Taylor, 89, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Thursday, January 18, 2024.
She was the daughter of the late Willie Wright Kiser and Cora Lee Davis Kiser. Born May 16, 1934, in Yadkin County, NC.
Dot was a loving wife and mother; she enjoyed working in her flower garden, reading, country and bluegrass music, dancing, and was a wonderful cook. She was a faithful and active member of Victory Community Baptist. She worked for over 30 years as a seamstress at Quality Mills; later, Cross Creek Apparel.
In addition to her parents, Dot is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Taylor Jr., their son, Johnny Taylor, grandson, David Allen Taylor, granddaughter, Cassie Ayers, brothers: Russell G. Kiser, Raymond C. Kiser, and William “Junior” Kiser; sister, Thelma Kiser-Sasser.
She is survived by five children: Linda (Earl) Anderson of Conway, SC, Diane (Charles) Garner, Terry (Sandra) Taylor, Joey Taylor of Carthage, NC, and Cliff Taylor of Asheboro, NC; sister; Peggy Kiser Pendlan; eight grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024, at Victory Community Baptist Church in Carthage, NC. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery. Food & refreshments will follow the committal in the church Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to FirstHealth Hospice Foundation; 150 Applecross Rd., Pinehurst, NC 28374.

Dot was one of sweetest persons I knew and always had a smile on her face. I pray for peace for the family she leaves behind and she watches over them all.
