Dorothy Edith Moore 90, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, January 12, 2012 at at Pinelake Rehabilitation Center in Carthage..
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Browns Chapel Christian Church, with Reverend Michael Parenti and Reverend Hubert McLeod officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was a native of Moore County and retired from Clayson Knitting Mills, Star. She was a member of Browns Chapel Christian Church. Mrs. Moore was a daughter of the late Roosevelt Cox and Gertie Sheffield Cox Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Moore and son, Norman Russell 'Dude' Moore.
Surviving are her children: Louise Butler and husband Carlton of Virginia, Shelvia McAnulty and husband Harold of Florida, Barbara Moore Stuart, of Robbins, Stoney Lee Moore, of Asheboro, and Jerry Everett Moore and wife Delois of Robbins, brother: Foy Williams, sister: Ruth Williams Hussey, sister in law: Lucille Cox, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, NC. They will also receive friends following the funeral service in the church fellowship hall. Those wanting to bring food may do so for this time of visitation.
