Dorothy Parham Flinchum went to be with her Lord and Savior on the 13th of March 2014. One of five children, she was born on July 18, 1924 in Oxford, NC to Charles Easton Parham and Carolyn Harris Parham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Flinchum. She is survived by her sister, Christine Harris Kelly of Fayetteville, NC, children Gerry Flinchum (Susan) of Woodstock, GA, Rebecca Arnold (John) of Madison, GA, and Joy Van Der Sluys (Jack) of Snellville, GA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Michael Tiller (Jama) of Maryville TN, Joy Westbrook (Carlton) of Demorest, GA, Matthew Van Der Sluys of Tucker, GA, Nathan Van Der Sluys (Lauren) of Lawrenceville, GA, Jaime Van Der Sluys of Dallas, TX, and Catherine and Alexander Flinchum of Woodstock, GA and 3 great grandchildren.

 

After graduating from high school, Dorothy worked in the linen department in Ellis-Stone Department Store before becoming a homemaker after starting her family and later worked at Northwoods Florist. She attended Gwinnett Bible Chapel in Lilburn, GA.  

Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from two o'clock to three o'clock the afternoon of March 30, 2014 at the Tim Stewart Funeral Home in Snellville, GA with the memorial service to be conducted at three o'clock in the chapel following the visitation.  

 

A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, April 6th at Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage, NC
