Ernest Clayton Moore, age 80 of the Putnam community died Thursday (March 21, 2013) at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Putnam Friends Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Billy Joe Brady. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
A native of Moore County he was a son of the late Arthur and Rossie Kennedy Moore. Clayton retired as a motor grader operator from the NC Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his son Ernest Ricky Moore who died in 1988.
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Nall Moore; sister Agnes Cole of Durham; two nieces and one nephew as well as other distant relatives.
