Edith Mae Pope Cockman, 85 of Borden Rd. died Thursday, August 27, 2009 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM. Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Calvary Baptist church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Brad Harrison, the Rev. Fred Richardson and the Rev. Russell Craddock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Cockman was a native of Moore County; she was a Nanny to the Bell McGowan family and to the Bell Miller family. She was formerly Employed at Pine Needles Country Club, she was preceded in death by her husband Harding Cockman, her parents Ralph and Rady Pope and a daughter: Joyce Ann Russell.
Surviving is: sons: Dean Cockman of Bennett and Calvin Cockman of Carthage.
Daughter: Ruth Cockman Russell of Star.
Sister: Myrtle Holder Bean of Vass.
8 grandchildren 8 Great-grandchildren 5 Great-Great grandchildren.

I love you Grandma! I think about you everyday and miss you dearly. It’s hard to believe it’s 2014…where have the years gone…it seems just yesterday we were sitting and talking. My life has been blessed because you were in it. I will always love you!
