Edith Williams Hussey, 92, of Robbins, N.C., passed away peacefully on Friday, March 26, 2021 at her home.

 

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 30 at 2 p.m. at Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Robbins, NC. The body will lie in repose on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 2 until 5 PM and  8 AM until Noon, Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Kennedy Funeral Home.

 

Edith was born April 11, 1928 to Patrick and Callie Williams. After graduating high school, she worked as a seamstress at various mills in the area. She honed those skills and continued to make clothing for her children. She and husband Clarence E. Hussey were married for 62 years. Her pride was her family and her love language was food. Edith worked in the gardens with her husband and loved sharing all the fruits of their labor with family and friends. After retirement Edith and Clarence traveled with the Robbins FunLovers RV camping club and would spend many winter months in south Florida. She was the most loving mother, wife and grandmother as well as a dedicated member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church and valued her friends and community there.

 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Hussey, brothers Carlton, Willie, Wilburt, Raymond, Worthy Curtis “W.C.”, Paul, and Rodger, and her son Ronald Hussey. She is survived by her son Randy Hussey (Claire) of Carthage; daughter Lisa Brown (Ken) of Asheboro; sister-in-law Lorraine Williams of Robbins, sister-in-law Daisy Dunn of Star, brother-in-law Grady Hussey of Robbins; grandchildren Tess (Michael) Farmer of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., Lindsay Hussey of Asheville, Jay Hussey of Morrisville, Patrick (Victoria) Brown of Durham, Laura Brown of Charlotte; and great-grandchildren Tully Farmer, Quincy Farmer and Lucy Brown; as well as many special nieces and nephews.

 

The family would like to thank Dolly Locklear and Kim Hunt for providing in-home care and wonderful friendship to Edith over the last several months.

  1. Growing up a the Robbins Crossroads, Edith ( and Clarence) were our neighbors. She was always so kind and caring to our family. In later years I always enjoyed seeing her. She was always happy and smiling .

  4. Our prayers are with you all during this time. I have so many memories of Edith and Clarence. Camping on so many trips. They even came to New Orleans to visit us with mom and dad. Good times. She will be missed. Sending love, hugs and prayers.

  5. I have known and loved Edith my whole life! She was always a wonderful lady and treated like I was one of her children that she loved so dearly! I am going to miss her glowing smile, big hugs, laughter and always telling me how much she loved me. I have always loved and admired her! I will miss her so. My heart felt love and condolences to Randy and Lisa and all of her extended family! Heaven Just Gained a New Angel to watch over all the family and friends she loved so dearly!   6. So sorry. Prayers for family. When I was a kid, Edith and Clarence made my first beach trip possible as she invited my sister and me to join their family for a trip to Cherry Grove. What fun we had! I have enjoyed hearing about their RV travels with Robbins RV Club.

  7. With my deepest sympathy and prayers to all the family. Your mom was a special lady to me. She was a great neighbor. I always enjoyed all her visits to our house and going to visit with her as well. She was always so good to my mom. She will be missed but she is with Jesus now .

  8. Aunt Edith was my touchstone, early and throughout my life; loving, kind, generous and always greeting me with a glowing smile and hugs. Although my heart is heavy at her passing, I am buoyed by having experienced her unconditional love and affection and am grateful for her long, blessed life. I am truly thankful that she was a blessing to me. Bob and I send you all our prayers and condolences and pray that you will find peace and comfort surrounded by your loving family and friends.
