Edward Arthur Reeves, Jr.

Edward Arthur Reeves, Jr., age 99, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 18, 2026, with his loving wife, Darlene, by his side.

Edward was born February 5, 1927, to the late Edward & Jessie Locke Reeves in Dothan, Alabama. 

After graduation, Edward began his long career in the U.S. Army, where he served during WWII and the Korean War, eventually retiring from the Army Reserves. He worked for the federal government while in the reserves. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Fred Reeves. 

Edward is survived by his wife of 19 years, Darlene Reeves; his two sons, Edward Reeves III of St. Michaels, MD, and John Reeves of Charlottesville, VA; his 6 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at The Village Chapel in Pinehurst on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 1 p.m.  A time of fellowship with the family will follow the service. Pastor Ashley Smith will be officiating. Edward will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia at a later date.
