Edward Johnston Dunn, age 80, died Monday at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm on Thursday at Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage with the Rev. Dr. William J Maness, Jr. officiating.
A native of Milburn, Oklahoma he was the son of the late Joe & Dovie Dunn. After retiring from the United States Air Force he earned a BS in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He worked for the US Government in the design and quality control of decent systems. He loved animals and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Mary Dunn.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Grubb & husband, Kevin of Lillington; a brother, Bill Dunn of Ravia, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Dustin Yeary and Crystal Gunter.
