Ernest Ray Ragsdale, Jr. age 80, died Wednesday (May 18, 2011) at Autumn Care of Biscoe.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Kennedy Funeral Home in Robbins conducted by the Rev. Sam Swinney. Burial will follow in Pine Rest Cemetery.
A native of Moore County he was a son of the late Ernest Ray and Beulah Marley Ragsdale. Over the years he owned and operated a Laundromat and a Tire Store. He was a very talented musician and taught music for many years. He was a regular piano player at different churches including Crossroads Baptist Church in Robbins and Priest Hill Presbyterian Church in Carthage. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise Horner Ragsdale.
He is survived by: son Louis Ray Ragsdale and wife Elaine of Asheboro; daughters Linda Hogan and husband Terry of New Hope, Denise Duncan of Robbins; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Kennedy Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and other times at the residence of Ruby Sanders in Robbins.
