Estelle Marsh Gatewood, age 84 formerly of Carthage died Saturday (April 16, 2011) at Siler City Care and Rehab.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Emmanuel Baptist Church conducted by her brother the Rev. Bobby Marsh and the Rev. Eugene Ussery. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County she was a daughter of the late Howard and Lucy Dennis Marsh. She and her husband, the late Daniel Gatewood were farmers. She was preceded in death by a sister Myrtle Ashburn.
She is survived by: children Roger (Jenny) Whitaker of Siler City, Carolyn (Calvin) Frazier of Foxfire Village, Larry Whitaker of Carthage, Evelyn (Rod) Tidy of Siler City; sister Betty (Jack) Yow of Cameron; brother Bobby (Dean) Marsh of Asheboro; grandchildren Sandy Thomas of Foxfire Village, Tammy Mitchell of Siler City, Kristie (Brad) Randall of Gilbert, AZ, Bobby (Lynn) Whitaker of Robbins, Karen (Michael) McLaurin of Siler City, Angela (Ernest) Williams ofJackson Springs, Cathy (Eric) Stanley of Foxfire Village, Emily Tidy of Siler City; great-grandchildren Megan &A‚A Jonathan Randall of Gilbert, AZ, Sabrina & Lisa Marie Whitaker of Robbins, Brandy & Jay Thomas of Foxfire Village, Kendall & Jake Mitchell of Siler City, Jeana & Tyler Ray Williams of Jackson Springs, Caleb & Corinne McLaurin of Siler City and Lily Stanley of Foxfire Village.
The family will receive friends at Fry and Prickett Funeral Home on Monday from 6:30 - 8:30 PM.
