Eva Whitaker Lytle, age 94 of Sanford died Friday (December 2, 2016) at St. Joseph of the Pines in Southern Pines. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday at Emmanuel Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Eugene Ussery and Rev. John Chavis. Burial will follow at Red Branch Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Emmanuel Baptist Church beginning at 2:00. A native of Surry County she was a daughter of the late Asbury and Elizabeth Shinault Whitaker. Eva was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband James Logan Lytle who died in 1976 and her daughter Margaret “Libby” Hall. She is survived by her daughter Louise Hennings and husband Grover of Sanford; son Jimmy Lytle of Carthage; grandchildren Tony Lytle, Nenny Lytle, Bryan Hennings, Randy Hall and Tracy Knight; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
