Evelyn Gillette

Evelyn Anna Gillette, 89, died Tuesday January 25th at Penick Village.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church with Rev. John Tampa and Rev. Fred Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
Born August 24, 1921 in Pittsfield, MA she was a daughter of the late Harold and Emma Smith Clark and wife of the late John Gillette.
Mrs. Gillette was an executive assistant for the Pinehurst Hotel and church secretary and a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn McCashin of Richmond, VA, two grandchildren, Kerry McCashin Batty and Patrick Sean McCashin.
The family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Powell Funeral Home in Southern Pines.

You know how we all feel. The light has gone out here but it is illuminated in Heaven. I was sorry not to speak to you but I had to leave right after the service for High Point. I am confident she and John are happy without a tear in either e
