Everette John Daniels

Mr. Everett John Daniels 87 of Southern Pines died Friday May 1st at his residence.
Mr. Daniels served with the British Intelligence during WWll, and worked with a man known as Intrepid whose real name was Robert Stephenson. After the war he worked with General Motors in their overseas division his career with GM included duty in Karachi Pakistan, Mexico City, and Caracas Venezuela he then returned to the New York office of GM where he retired after thirty six years of service.
Mr. Daniels attended New York University, and was an active volunteer in many projects including the United Way in Venezuela
The International Service Corp in Costa Rica he was was a past President of the Sandhills Meals on Wheels of the Sandhills where he served for fifteen years. His biggest enjoyment was actually delivering the meals to shut ins.He had a fellowship at Duke University in Geriatrics for all of his work in volunteering he received the Governors Award.
Survivors include his wife Marjorie Barrow Daniels and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Monday May 4th in the Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Archie P. Stevens officiating internment will be private at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
