Born in Fresno, CA, on December 1, 2003, he was a son of Onorio Martinez Valdez and Erica Guzman Castro.
Ferny graduated from North Moore High School in 2022. He was a part of the North Moore Soccer Team where he was named Offensive Player of the Year. Ferny also excelled in the arts. He was active in the NMHS Theatre program and with Imagine Youth Theatre in Pinehurst. His favorite role was portraying Danny Zuko in Grease.

Ferny was outgoing, grateful, selfless, and full of life. His smile and laughter was contagious. His motto was “No pasa nada” or “no worries”. He believed in living each day to the fullest and enjoying the world around. He loved a great poker game, a good bonfire, singing loudly, and just spending time with friends and family. Most of all he loved his family. His world revolved around his daughter Daisy and his wife Skylar. Ferny positively impacted everyone around him and made everyone feel important. He was an amazing Father, Husband, Son, and Friend. In memory of Ferny we ask that you smile and live life to the fullest, and remember “no pasa nada”.

Dear Fielder-Jones and Martinez-Guzman Families. My heart is completely broken for you all. No words are adequate enough at a time like this, but please know that you are loved and are being prayed for. When Lucian was talking to or playing online with Ferny I would always ask , “Who are you talking to?” and he would say, “Ferny.” and I would say, “The Fernando?” and he would say, “Yes, THE Fernando Martinez-Guzman.” Ferny was bright light and he was like a local celebrity to his younger friends. THE FERNANDO, his smile, and his laughter will be greatly missed.
I remember my sophomore year of high school ferny would always end up at our lunch table cracking jokes and making everyone laughing the whole time😂he never failed to put a smile on someone’s face.
To skylar and family you are in my thoughts and prayers ❤️
