Frances Taylor Roberts, age 87, died Friday at Westminster Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A memorial service will held 2:00 PM Monday at Ebenezer Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill. A graveside service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Cross Hill Cemetery in Carthage, NC. Visitation will follow each service.
Born in Recife, Brazil to missionary parents, George W. and Julia Pratt Taylor, moved to Clinton SC after the death of her father. She graduated from Mary Baldwin College and married Dan the same year. They spend the most of their adult life in Orangeburg SC where Frances was a Bible teacher and Sunday School teacher and was Woman of the Year for her work with the mentally handicaped. They retired to the Presbyterian Home in Columbia, SC.
She was preceded in death by: husband Dan Roberts, Sr., son John Roberts and brother, G. Aiken Taylor.
Survivors include: son- Dr. Daniel Roberts, Jr. of Richmond VA; daughters Fran Cope and husband, Marty, of Rock Hill SC, Julia Gibson and husband, Ned, of Asheville NC; sisters Julia Cushman of Chattanooga and Betty Copley of Newberry SC; 12 Grandchildren; 4 Great-grandchildren
In lieu of flowers memorials will made to Presbyterian Communities of SC, 2817 Ashland Road, Columbia, SC 29210.
