Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I am so sorry to hear of this. Pam- I am thinking of you during this most difficult time. I always loved working with Jerry when he owned Powell Funeral Home. A fine man and a friend. Rest in Peace.

  2. A friend of mine from the start. Working funerals, Jaycees, Rotary, Christmas parade, lunch downtown, morning coffee club at Hamels. These are some memories I have of my friend Jerry Hardister.

  3. A life long friend since the boys were small. Many years of memories my condolences to the family. Prayers that Jerry will be remembered as a kind caring man.

  4. When Jerry moved to Georgiana, my husband, (Charles) and I became close friends with Jerry. He was very active in the church & the community. Everyone that knew him loved him. He always talked about his wonderful family. It is unbearable to lose a loved one, but may it comfort you to know that others are grieving with you. Words cannot possible convey our deepest sympathy. Our prayers are with all of you during this difficult time, Till we meet again. He will be greatly missed.

  5. I was Jerry’s Minister at Oak Grove UMC in Georgiana, AL for 2 years. He was such a kind hearted man. He talked to me about his life and many decisions he had made throughout his lifetime. He loved his family. During the short time I knew him, I saw the kindhearted person he was. He was compassionate about things in life and had true faith in Jesus Christ. He loved to take Holy Communion as it made him feel even closer to Jesus and I carried it to him in Evergreen Nursing Home, however, the last time, he was unable to see visitors. You will always be remembered Jerry, by Oak Grove UMC members, my husband (Jessie) and myself. You have your wings, no longer suffering and flying high with no pain. God’s Speed My Friend.

  6. Pam, sending you my thoughts & 🙏🙏. I have known you both for a long time. I had met you both when I worked at the Sheraton in Southern Pines. Jerry was such a kind, thoughtful man. Also with a smile . He was a good friend & I will truly miss him. Dear Jerry, R.I.P. and we will meet again someday. Love ya!

  7. Pam I am so sorry to hear of Jerry’s passing. You as well as the family will be in my thoughts and prayers. He was a good friend of mine and especially Tommy.

  8. Pam,
My thoughts are with you. Jerry was a good man. I wish I had known him better.

    Be Safe and Be Well
    Love Ya,
    Lee

  9. I am so sorry that I am unable to attend the service today; Jerry was a friend and a great funeral director.
Sympathy and prayers to all of his family.

  10. I knew Jerry for many years. He took care of our family when both of my Grandparents passed away, and when we lost my Dad. I am unclear as to whether he had already moved away, or was preoccupied when my Mom died. After a few weeks, Jerry called me to exress his condolences so we could reminisce. He was just a very good friend, and a really good person. I am sorry for your loss.

  11. I knew Jerry when my husband and I were fortunate to be “back door” neighbors many years ago in Southern Pines, and Frank and Shawn were just youngsters. Jerry was a wonderful neighbor and friend, and always so kind and compassionate to all he encountered.

My prayers are with the family during this difficult time and I am so sorry for your loss.
