Gail Bibey Barber, age 68, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, May 28, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her family.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Yates-Thagard Baptist Church, with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:30 and other times at the home.

A native of Moore County, she was the eldest daughter of the late Johnny Paul and Cordella Whittington Bibey. She worked for 25 years at Ingersoll Rand and also was a real estate broker.  Gail loved her family and all her pets. Family vacations and family gathering were always special times for her. Her door was always open and she enjoyed each and every visit with family and friends. She was quite an athlete, playing softball and basketball and attending games that her children were involved in. Gail also loved horses and enjoyed horseback riding. In addition to her parents, she was  preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Floyd Barber and brothers: Dennis Bibey, Mark Bibey.

Gail is survived by children: Al Barber and wife Pattie, Billy Barber and fiance’ Terri, Craig Barber and wife Shannon, Tammy Barber, Tara Barber; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren;  sisters: Regena Nugent and husband Patrick, Roxanne Marks and husband Lawrence; Marlene O’Hara; many nieces, nephews and friends.
