Garrett L. Brown, 58,  passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at FirstHealth Hospice House, Pinehurst, NC.

Garrett was born September 12, 1962 to the late Gary and Betty Saunders Brown. He was a graduate of North Moore High School and trained as a licensed plumber.  He was employed with First Line Plumbing and later owned his own business, Browns Plumbing.  Garrett loved working with his hands and was a talented woodworker.  He also enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. Garrett was always pleased to see the work that he accomplished come together in a new home for families he knew.  Time spent with his family was important, especially time with his grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings: Lucille Gattis, Damon Smith, Garry Ray Smith.  

Garret is survived by wife Pepi; daughters: Kayly Brown Lindley and husband Clay; Carla Brown; step sons: Mario Stratta, Davis Stratta; grandchildren: Elin, Brie, Wren, Octavia; brother Wayne Smith and wife Patty; many nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be 10 AM, Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Mt Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3925 Old Carthage Road, Carthage, NC 28327; with the Reverend  Jason Whitehurst officiating.  

Memorials can be made to FirstHealth Hospice, 150 Applecross Road, Pineshurst, NC.

  2. I was so saddened to learn of Garretts passing, sending thoughts and prayers for all his family! His Dad Gary Brown was my first cousin and I got to know Garrett over the years! My Sincere Sympathy!!

  3. Garrett was a wonderful person. He was always there when my mom needed plumbing work & listened to her talk about old days when she & his mom worked together. A kind soul that will be deeply missed

  17. Kim and I are grieved for you all in your loss of Garrett. Such a caring , concerned man who looked to the interest of others. He was very good to my mom when she had plumbing needs. That is greatly appreciated. He spoke of Kayly and Carla and his wife Pepi when he and I talked. I always will appreciate his encouragement of me as Principal at Westmoore. He will be missed.   23. Saddened to hear about Garrett’s passing. Prayers for the family. Garrett and I were only 18 days apart in age, so we spent all our school years together; sleepovers at each other’s house and many innings on the baseball diamond. He was a great friend. NMHS Class of 1980.
