Gerald Bobby Hussey

Gerald Bobby Hussey, 82, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023, at his home.

Gerald was a native of Moore County. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 20 years including 2 stations in Japan where he met and married his wife Ikuko (Sukoshi). He retired in the town he was born and raised, Robbins, NC. 

Gerald loved his family, his country, horses and bluegrass gospel music. He appreciated a good joke but took the greatest pleasure in making others laugh. He was a son of the late Fentress and Zola Needham Hussey and was preceded in death by siblings: Betty Rose Hussey, Ellena Sidur, Clarice Varner, Russell Hussey, Clyde (Bud) Hussey, Vernon Hussey, Larry Hussey. 

Gerald is survived by wife: Ikuko (Sukoshi) Hussey (Asheboro, NC); children: David Hussey and wife Theresa (Asheboro, NC), Cathy Johnson and husband Juan  (Lighthouse Point, FL); grandchildren: Cory Hussey, Eric Hussey, Natalie Johnson and Jackie Johnson; sisters: Katie Rogers, Estelle Wallace, Hilda Morgan, Margaret Stuart; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Service will be  3:00 PM, Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Acorn Ridge Baptist Church, with Dr. John Williamson officiating.    Burial with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Kennedy Funeral Home.
