Geraldine Williams Garner, 89, passed into the arms of her heavenly father on Tuesday, April 21st, at FirstHealth Hospice & Palliative Care surrounded by her family

Geraldine was a native of Moore County. She graduated from Elise High School in 1949. She was a homemaker and worked many years in the Robbins textile mill and Ithaca Hosiery industries. Geraldine loved the Lord, her family and her church.

Nannie loved caring for her grandchildren. She always had a meal prepared for her entire family to gather every Sunday. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed sharing her gift with family and friends. She was a faithful Christian woman, serving alongside her husband for 57 years. Geraldine was a daughter of the late Dossie & Bonnie Williams and was preceded in death by her husband: Lewell Swanson (Dink) Garner; granddaughter: Mary Kathryn Garner; greatgranddaughter: Adalyn Elizabeth Garner; sisters: Edith W. Coles, Lula Mae (Goodie) W. Scott, & Patti (Pat) W. Williams, brotherinlaws, Bill Coles and Roby Williams.

Geraldine is survived by daughter: S. Diann Garner and husband Roby: son: Jarius M. Garner and Anne; grandchildren: Anthony Garner, Joel Garner, and Chloe Garner; greatgrandson: Jace Garner; brother in law: Lacy Scott, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The body will lie in state Thursday, April 23, 2020 from 3:00 until 6:00 PM and Friday, April 24, 2020 from 8:00 until 11:00 AM, at Kennedy Funeral Home,, Robbins, NC. Due to the COVID19 virus, family will not be present, but friends are welcome to come by the funeral home to sign the registry..

There will be a graveside funeral 1:00 PM, Friday, April 24, 2020 at Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery, where she was a faithful member, with the Reverend David Woodhouse officiating.

Memorials may be made to Smyrna United Methodist Church, 203 Smyrna Church Road, Robbins, NC 27325.
